Hi! Welcome to the new and continuously improving Maxwell's Alley.

This site is a collection of lots of things, both professional and personal, that make up me. Apparently some people are interested in me, so here's a handy place to find out more. I've got several things in the queue, and my interests break down into several categories.

• Professional - I'm a Microsoft SQL Server DBA by trade, so that will probably make up the bulk of this site. There will be scripts, commentary, and some professional development endeavors will referenced. Here's my resume, if you're interested in that. 
• Skepticism - I'm a member of our local Skeptics group, CORI, and do some work for them from time to time. What I can cross-post here, I will. I'm also on a skeptical podcast, appropriately named CORICast.
• Entertainment - I'm also a semi-decent musician, so there will be some reference to my musical exploits posted. I'll put up mp3s of the originals as I create them and if I ever start playing out again, I will list performance dates here as well.

One thing you will not find here is a blog. While I do plan to do some cross posting between here and my blog, the site as it stands is not suited for that. I don't currently have the funds to purchase the kind of hosting plan that would allow me to install one here. Also, I have no desire to move my archives to here. Rather than re-invent the wheel, you can read my current ramblings at Geek Sandwich, which will probably remain my main web-based outlet for some time, while this site serves more as an archive. I may choose to move the blog here in the distant future, but that's not happening right now.

Outside of all that, this site will be kind of a catch-all for me, until I decide that splitting things out would be worthwhile. As I work on my development skills outside of SQL, the site should improve. Continuous improvement has always been a theme of mine, and I hope to show that on this site, as well as elsewhere.
